Byron Bay

Only 2 hours south of Brisbane, Byron Bay is a small town nestled behind Cape Byron, the easternmost point of mainland Australia. The local permanent population is about 8,000 but the Byron Shire is about 30,000.

World famous for its bohemian lifestyle,   it is a place where everyone is on a first name basis and you can get around by bike; where a local restaurant has a better future than Mc. Donalds andwhere the natural landscape forms part of daily life.   An example of this is that since 2007 the State of New South Wales has stopped realestate development in the area in order to protect the unique natural environment.   The majestic Byron Bay lighthouse, it the easternmost point of Australia and the ocean provides some of the best surfing waves, all in all, Byron Bay is one of the best places in Australia to relax and enjoy life.
