Skills Classes at International House

Every student has a different skill that needs special attention.

International House Sydney now offers Skills Classes, for Intermediate and above students who want to focus on and improve their reading, writing, listening or speaking.

Each Semi Intensive Skills Class lasts 2 weeks.

Study Mode

Day Class Mon – Thurs   8.30am – 2.30pm

Evening Class Mon – Fri  5pm – 9.15pm

Skills Classes Overview

Reading

– Learn to read quickly for general understanding and specific information

– Covers a variety of styles including real-life newspaper and magazine articles, emails and short stories

Writing

– Enjoy individual attention for error correction

– Gain a wider range of vocabulary with a review on basic sentence structure

– Learn different styles of writing: formal, business, academic, reviews, complaints, narratives and stories

Listening

– Develop awareness to different accents by native and non-native speakers

– Identify problem areas: speed, accent, lack of vocabulary or grammar

Speaking and Pronunciation

– Learn to speak more clearly, confidently and accurately

– Practice sounds, stress, rhythm, and intonation through fun activities

– Intensive Writing ( 19 Jan-20 Jan, 16 Feb-27 Feb, 30 Mar-10 Apr, 27 Apr-8 May)

– Intensive Grammar (5 Jan-16 Jan, 2 Feb-13 Feb, 2 Mar-13 Mar, 13 Apr-24 Apr, 11 May-22 May)

– Speaking and Pronunciation starts every Monday
