Community and the environment are very important for Sydney English Academy
Sydney English Academy (SEA) is located only 100 meters from spectacular Manly Beach, just 15 minutes from Sydney CBD ( ferry ) and on the main street of Manly, surrounded by cafes, shops , bars and surf shops .
The SEA is located in one of the most beautiful environments on Earth and we want to keep it that way! A large proportion of our energy needs come from renewable energy sources. All flights by SEA directors have carbon offsets. SEA is an accredited business under the Manly Sustainable Tourism initiative.
Recycling is an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment. Did you know that:
• 1 recycled tin can would save enough energy to power a television for 3 hours.
• 1 recycled glass bottle would save enough energy to power a computer for 25 minutes.
• 1 recycled plastic bottle would save enough energy to power a 60-watt light bulb for 3 hours.
70% less energy is required to recycle paper compared with making it from raw materials.
We are big on recycling – find out how you can help on day 1 of your course!
Australia is an amazing country with a lot of opportunities so we felt we could try to improve the opportunities available to others who are not so fortunate…
How Sydney English Academy does it:
SEA plans to sponsor a student each year from a developing country to come to study with us, and take back skills and experiences to their homeland that will benefit not just themselves and their family but their wider community too.
Through the SEA the students can get involved in a Volunteer Program. SEA help the interested student to find a local volunteers group.
What are you interested in? Some voluntary work are:
• Bush Regeneration
• Farm work (after or before your course),
• Pre-school visits
• Aged care visits
• Assisting at local festivals.
