Work and Holiday Programme Spain – Australia from 23rd November 2014!

The Work & Holiday Visa Agreement between Australia and Spain will commence on 23 November 2014.

The programme is limited to 500 visas per annum and applications will need to be made by paper (as opposed online) and will need to be posted to the Australian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.

Key requirements:

• Must be at least 18 but have not turned 31 years of age at the time of application
• Will not be with a dependent child whilst in Australia
• Will have enough money to support itself on a working holiday (about AUD 5,000)
• Have enough money to buy a return or onward travel ticket at the end of the stay
• Have not previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa (subclass 417)
• Meet the educational requirements – tertiary qualifications, or have successfully completed at least two years of undergraduate university study
• Have functional English- E.g. an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) average score of at least 4.5 for the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing) no more than two years ago or Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 133 on a computer-based test, 450 on a paper- based test or 45-46 on an internet-based test, no more than two years ago
• Meet character and health requirements
• Are a genuine visitor.

Key facts

• Must be applied from overseas- applicants currently in Australia will need to depart to apply and wait overseas for it to be granted
• Can only obtain 1 visa in a lifetime
• Can be in Australia for up to 12 months
• Multiple-entry visa- can come and go within the 12 month period
• Will be allowed to work but this is limited to 6 months with the same employer
• Study up to 4 months
• Application fee of $420
